Legal terms
Terms of Service
These terms set expectations for using Good Dog as an AI-assisted dog behavior information product. They preserve mandatory consumer and privacy rights and do not replace professional veterinary, emergency, or certified behavior support.
Public product name: Good Dog. Support: support@mail.good-dog.app.
Effective date: September 3, 2026
Who provides the service
1. Operator, scope, and acceptance
These Terms of Service apply to Good Dog, an AI-assisted dog behavior information service operated by Nikolay Andreychuk, a self-employed individual (trabalhador independente) established in Portugal and trading under the public name Good Dog. Public contact address: Rua Rio Sorraia 10, 2865-540 Fernão Ferro, Portugal. Telephone: +351 915 839 025. Portuguese tax identification number (NIF): 315547855.
By creating an account, accessing the website, or using the mobile app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Separate affirmative choices apply to third-party AI processing, optional analytics, push notifications, and app-store purchases. Accepting these Terms does not grant those separate permissions.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if higher, to use Good Dog. Minors may not create or use an account, and Good Dog does not offer parent-managed or guardian-managed minor accounts. Good Dog asks for a one-time affirmative age declaration and records its version and timestamp without collecting your date of birth or identity document.
Good Dog is offered to adults on the website and in the mobile apps in every market except Russia, Brazil, Japan, and mainland China. Mobile distribution uses the Apple App Store and Google Play storefronts where the applicable platform supports it, and availability may still be limited by platform operation, sanctions, payments, or applicable law. Good Dog does not actively offer the service in the four excluded markets; public web pages that remain reachable there are not an offer directed to those locations.
AI-assisted dog behavior information
2. What Good Dog provides
Good Dog helps dog owners and caregivers describe behavior concerns, create dog profiles, receive AI-assisted recommendations, review check-ins, chat about non-emergency behavior questions, and manage reminders. The service is grounded in humane dog-behavior methodology and depends on the context you provide.
Good Dog uses AI-assisted systems to generate dog behavior information from the context you provide. Outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or unsuitable for a specific dog or situation.
Not veterinary or emergency care
3. Safety limits and professional care
Good Dog is not veterinary care, emergency assistance, a certified professional behavior consultation, legal advice, medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a guarantee of any outcome.
Contact a veterinarian, certified trainer/behavior professional, emergency service, or other qualified professional immediately for pain, sudden behavior change, bites, aggression, severe anxiety, medical concerns, animal-welfare concerns, unsafe situations, or emergencies.
You are responsible for deciding whether and how to apply Good Dog information safely, supervising people and animals, and stopping any plan that appears unsafe, harmful, or unsuitable for your dog, household, or local laws.
Your responsibilities
4. Accounts and information you provide
You are responsible for your account, the accuracy of information you submit, and activity under your credentials. Keep your sign-in method secure and tell us if you believe your account has been misused.
Do not submit information you are not authorized to provide. Because free-text behavior descriptions can include private household details, avoid adding unnecessary personal, medical, financial, or identifying information about yourself or others.
App-store billing
5. Subscriptions, purchases, and refunds
The first recommendation and one chat answer are free. Further chat answers and regular check-ins require a subscription. Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat help process purchases, entitlement state, renewals, restore flows, and revenue reporting. Good Dog does not collect full payment card numbers.
Subscription duration, price, renewal terms, cancellation steps, and refund rules are shown in the purchase flow and governed by the relevant app store unless a separate Good Dog offer states otherwise. Auto-renewing subscriptions renew until canceled through the store account controls. Deleting the app or your Good Dog account does not automatically cancel an app-store subscription.
Mandatory cancellation, conformity, refund, and withdrawal rights continue to apply. If the law requires a separate request to begin a paid digital service during a withdrawal period, or an acknowledgement that beginning performance affects a withdrawal right, that choice must be shown before purchase. If it is not shown, these Terms do not remove the statutory right.
Licenses
6. User content, generated content, and intellectual property
You keep ownership of dog profiles, questionnaire answers, check-ins, chat questions, and other content you submit. You grant Good Dog a limited license to host, process, transmit, display, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the service using that content.
Good Dog owns or licenses the app, website, design, knowledge-base organization, prompts, product features, and other service materials. AI-generated recommendations and chat answers are provided for your personal, non-commercial use and may not be resold, republished as professional advice, or used to build a competing service.
Separate privacy notice
7. Privacy and optional choices
The Privacy Policy explains what data Good Dog collects, why it is used, where it is processed, how long it may be kept, and how to exercise privacy rights. These Terms do not convert service use into blanket consent for every processing purpose.
At launch, Good Dog does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, run targeted ads, or use advertising pixels.
Good Dog collects limited aggregate website usage counts without identifying users or tracking individual journeys. These counts do not use cookies or account or device identifiers. Optional account-linked analytics require your consent and stop when you withdraw it. Mobile usage analytics, when available, also require your consent. We do not intentionally send private dog profiles, questionnaire answers, chats, recommendations, contact details, payment credentials, or purchase receipts to our analytics provider. We do not record sessions or automatically capture form contents.
Service infrastructure
8. Third-party providers
Good Dog relies on service providers for authentication, hosting, database storage, AI generation, subscriptions, push notifications, error monitoring, optional analytics, and app-store operations. Those providers process data only as needed for their role and their own legally required operations.
| Provider | Role | Data handled | Privacy safeguards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clerk | Authentication, sign-in sessions, and user account management. | Account identifiers, sign-in provider profile data, session/security metadata. | No dog behavior content is intentionally sent for authentication. |
| Resend | Service emails and inbound support-email forwarding. | Email addresses, service messages, and support messages and attachments you send us. | Service emails exclude private dog, conversation, and payment content. Support messages go to our support mailbox and are not stored in the product database. |
| Vercel | Website and app hosting. | Request metadata, server logs, and application traffic needed to operate the service. | May process service requests that contain private app content. |
| Neon | Database hosting for account-linked product records. | Account information, dog profiles, questionnaires, check-ins, chats, recommendations, reminders, and subscription records. | Stores private product content needed to provide the service. |
| OpenAI | AI processing for reference selection, recommendations, and chat answers. | Relevant dog profiles, questionnaire responses, check-ins, chat messages, previous recommendations, reference material, and generated answers. | Receives private content only with your AI-processing permission. Training and retention practices are explained in the Privacy Policy. |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management and purchase restoration. | Account identifiers, purchases, subscription status, renewal dates, and refunds. | Does not intentionally receive private dog or conversation content, or full payment card details. |
| Apple App Store and Google Play | Payment processing, subscription management, refunds, store account controls, and beta testing. | Store account, transaction, subscription, refund, and app-store metadata handled by the stores, and the Google account you use to join our Android tester group on Google Groups, which Google Play uses to admit testers. | Good Dog does not receive full payment card numbers from the stores. |
| Expo application services | Push notification routing for reminders and product notifications when enabled, and delivery of mobile app updates. | Expo push tokens and notification routing metadata; for update checks, a random installation identifier, IP address, app version, platform, update channel and update identifiers, and the name and message of an error that stopped the app during startup. | Notifications use generic text without dog names, behavior details, or recommendation content. Update checks do not include account identifiers, and Good Dog does not intentionally include private dog or conversation content in them. |
| Sentry | Error monitoring, crash diagnostics, and reliability debugging. | Technical device/browser/app metadata and sanitized application context. | Good Dog does not intentionally send questionnaire text, chat content, recommendation text, prompts, or outputs to Sentry. |
| PostHog | Aggregate website usage measurement and optional product analytics. | Unlinked website usage counts; with optional consent, usage activity and pseudonymous account identifiers. | Private dog and conversation content is excluded. Optional analytics require consent; sessions and form contents are not recorded. |
Misuse is prohibited
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Good Dog for unlawful, abusive, harassing, exploitative, or harmful purposes;
- submit false, misleading, infringing, or unauthorized content;
- seek instructions for animal abuse, unsafe handling, or evading welfare obligations;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, data, accounts, or infrastructure;
- scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or automate the service outside official features;
- remove, obscure, or misrepresent Good Dog safety notices or attribution.
Access controls
10. Suspension, termination, and data effects
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe there is account compromise, harmful misuse, payment issues, legal risk, or violation of these Terms. You may stop using the service at any time.
Deleting account data does not automatically cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Users may need to cancel subscriptions through the relevant store, and Good Dog may retain limited payment, security, fraud-prevention, audit, or legal records where required or appropriate.
Consumer protections preserved
11. Disclaimers, liability, and mandatory rights
Good Dog is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free output, specific behavior outcomes, or that AI-generated information will fit every dog or environment.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Good Dog will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for decisions made in reliance on AI-generated information. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer, privacy, product-liability, or other mandatory laws.
Portuguese law and mandatory consumer rights
12. Governing law and dispute terms
These Terms and non-contractual obligations connected with the service are governed by Portuguese law. That choice does not deprive a consumer of protections that cannot be waived under the law that would otherwise apply to them.
Subject to mandatory consumer-jurisdiction rules, the courts of Portugal have non-exclusive jurisdiction. Consumers may bring a claim in any other court or small-claims forum made available by mandatory law. These Terms do not require private arbitration and do not contain a class-action waiver.
Before filing a dispute, please contact support@mail.good-dog.app so the parties can try to resolve it. Portuguese consumers may contact the Centro de Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo de Lisboa, the consumer alternative-dispute-resolution centre whose territory includes Seixal. Portuguese law may require participation in arbitration or mediation for qualifying low-value consumer disputes when the consumer chooses that route. This statutory route is different from a private mandatory-arbitration clause, which these Terms do not impose.
Policy updates
13. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms when product behavior, vendors, subscription offers, legal obligations, or launch territories change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, by additional notice in the app or website.
